I decided to connect my ipad to the computer and sync the movies all over again. When it finished I checked it and everything seemed all right. I had to go out and haven't had a chance to try checking it again.
I wonder why that happened. With mine every one showed a blank and I have quite a few on it. I forgot it at my Dad's so I can't check it now but will tomorrow.
Thanks for responding.
Gayle

The security update apparently was the problem, so thanks for the help. I never thought it would be that easy. Anybody having the problem should check the software update. It works.

No...it isn't.

I'm not sure if I posted about it to this list, but I have a friend
who owns a well known hard drive recovery service. I asked him about
the quality of different brands of hard drive. In fact, I've been
keeping in touch with him to keep current on the topic, since I'm
often asked about this.

My friend says that it is clear that WD has been outsourcing drive
manufacturing, because drives of the same model and in the same range
of serial numbers don't always have identical parts. Their quality
is in the toilet. WD is basically now just a box mover going for
volume over quality. Their drives have the lowest quality of any
brand on the market.

Howdy.

Two kinds of Flash are probably confusing the issue. Both are from
Adobe.

1. Flash Player.

2. Mobile Flash.

Number 1 Flash Player is for desktop computers. Install this and you
can play Flash videos within your web browser window.

There is also a standalone Flash Player that can play Flash videos that
you download. They have the .flv file extension.

Number 2 is Mobile Flash for portable devices, smart phones, etc. It
is Mobile Flash that Steve jobs and Apple opposed strongly. Jobs and
Apple claimed that Mobile Flash was very poorly designed to be used
with touch screen devices and with battery powered portable devices -
that it consumed battery power at high rates. Apple/Jobs pushed the
HTML5 video format instead. It is Mobile Flash that isn't part of
iOS. Apple/Jobs also felt that Mobile Flash and also desktop Flash was
prone to hacker attack.

Adobe announced some months ago that it was discontinuing development
work on Mobile Flash in favor of HTML5 work.

At this time, Flash is a technology that seems to have more features
but HTML5 is rapidly catching up and is more attuned to the world of
battery powered mobile devices.
