Well, the fireworks are over, but the fun stuff is just beginning. Like always, Apple has posted the very first TV spot for their new product on their website, and it promotes the iPad’s most compelling new feature. Indeed, the Retina display plays front man in Apple’s new TV spot, as it should; it looks stunning. I think they did a really good job of showing off how incredible the display looks.(...) Why the new iPad is called “iPad” Posted: 07 Mar 2012 06:09 PM PST iPad HD, iPad 3. Those were a couple names the tech world speculated about before today’s announcement. All of them were wrong as we quickly realized when Tim Cook unveiled “the new iPad” earlier today. But why is the new iPad simply called iPad? Couldn’t they call it the iPad 3 as good common sense suggested?(...) "Why the new iPad is called “iPad”" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. |
Here’s how the iOS 5.1 Lock screen camera works Posted: 07 Mar 2012 05:18 PM PST Arguably the biggest change to iOS 5.1 when compared with its predecessors is the Lock screen camera functionality. Instead of double pressing the Home button to reveal the camera icon on your Lock screen, the camera icon is a permanent fixture. Revealing the actual camera also works quite differently than in times past. Check out our video walkthrough of the new iOS 5.1 Lock screen camera functions inside…(...) New iPhoto app doesn’t use Google Maps Posted: 07 Mar 2012 04:16 PM PST Earlier today, Apple unveiled a new iPhoto application for iOS during its iPad 3 event. While we’ve already outlined most of iPhoto’s components, a new discovery has been made regarding one of its features. It appears that the app doesn’t use Google Maps for any of its GPS-related tasks…(...) "New iPhoto app doesn’t use Google Maps" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. |

Hands on with the new Apple TV interface [Video] Posted: 07 Mar 2012 02:29 PM PST The Apple TV received an update to its interface, shortly after today’s iPad media event. The interface, while nice at first glance, does little more than spiffy up the Apple TV’s Home screen. Underneath the friendly bubble based interface, you’ll find the same text-based menus of old. It’s basically just a shiny coat of new paint on top of the Apple TV’s plain jane UI. It’s certainly not a sole reason to purchase an Apple TV, or negate your jailbreak just to enjoy the new UI…(...) iOS 5.1 turns your iPhone 4S into an iPhone 4G Posted: 07 Mar 2012 02:19 PM PST If you’re not worried about your jailbreak, we’re assuming you’ve already installed the iOS 5.1 update that was just released this afternoon. iOS 5.1 adds some great features like Siri support for Japanese users, a new camera app for iPad, and a new camera shortcut. The new update also adds a 4G indicator to the AT&T version of the iPhone 4S. While it doesn’t truly support 4G, AT&T can call the iPhone 4S a 4G device because it supports HSPA+ networks up to 16 megabits per second… "iOS 5.1 turns your iPhone 4S into an iPhone 4G" is an article by iDownloadBlog.com. |
