The Juice Pack Plus is the newest model and is 2000mAh (about 1.5x the
iPhone Battery) - the Juice Pack Air is 1500mAh and was modified slightly a
few months ago - will be an ounce or two lighter due to smaller battery.

Find my Friends catches wife cheating, brings privacy issues to fore

Sent to you by Bill Boulware via Google Reader: Find my Friends catches
wife cheating, brings privacy issues to forefront via 9to5Mac by 9to5
Staff on 10/16/11

Over in the MacRumors Forums, some guy says he caught his wife cheating
using the new Find My Friends app on the iPhone 4S.

I got my wife a new 4s and loaded up find my friends without her
knowing. She told me she was at her friends house in the east village.
I've had suspicions about her meeting this guy who lives uptown. Lo and
behold, Find my Friends has her right there.

I just texted her asking where she was and the dumb b!otch said she was
on 10th Street!! Thank you Apple, thank you App Store, thank you all.
These beautiful treasure trove of screen shots going to play well when
I meet her a$$ at the lawyer's office in a few weeks.

So he really didn't "catch her cheating", but she appears to be lying
about her whereabouts. He later provides pictures:

Now, this account could easily be faked but it does bring up some
privacy issues. Sure Google's Latitude and other GPS utilities could be
used for such nefarious purposes before, but as Apple often does to
technology, this is now mainstream. GPS tracking is now easy to access
and in a lot more hands.

So how far should people be able to go with these things? Should this
data be admissible in civil court? An Android user used his GPS data to
help him get out of a speeding ticket, but could your location data
also get you in trouble?

Discuss. (via @arnoldKim)

I emailed Otterbox to find out why they have a case made specifically for
the 4S. Here is there reply which doesn't make any sense. I would understand
if they had said the mute switch but not the camera. Can someone with a 4S
verify?

The iPhone 4s is not compatible with the iPhone 4 cases due to the size of
the new camera on the 4s. We have made a separate case for this device with
a larger opening for the cameras. I apologize for any inconvenience. Have a
great day.

It's not the camera size. It's the position of the camera. It moves just slightly that you can't use your Otterbox for the 4 on the 4S. So they simply opened the hole really big to fit for both units.

I don't like it that big. I wished they would have just kept the hole small and make a 4S version with a small hole.

I tried my husbands otterbox for his 4 on my 4s & I didn't see a problem with the camera opening just the silent switch. Maybe I missed something. My camera filled the opening but beyond that I don't know.

Kate, That is no the same thing. A scanner would show what WiFi signals the
phone was hearing around you, how strong they were and if they were locked
or not.

iOS 5: ringtones/alert sounds

Do these also go to the cloud and go across devices? If I buy an alert sound on my iPhone does it automatically go to my iPad with iOS 5?

I can't find the alert sound I bought on my iPad on my iPhone...

Thanks!!

Not sure if this might help, but suggest:

goto iTunes app on your ipad, select music> tone and purchased items and see if you can load onto your ipad.

You would think it would sync automatically, but I haven't seen anyway to put custom tones on the ipad like I have on my iphone.

Also, tones may be restricted to 15 second clips.

Hope this helps

Before, my 3G connection on AT&T was not the fastest. Now with the new 4s with the HSPA connection, it is quite fast. I would get a edge connection in my mom's home. Now I get 3G and fast at that. Siri is great. The camera use in the locked position and the quality of the camera makes me so glad I upgraded from the 3GS bypassing the 4. I think I am in the sweet spot as far as upgrades are concerned. Will bypass the 5 and pick up the 5s with all the tweaks.

I have a 3GS, and what you describe is exactly what mine is doing.

While at home, with auto-connecting on WiFi, when waking the iPhone it first shows a cellular connection, and then after a moment shows it switched to a WiFi connection. That is if it has been asleep for a while. If i put it to sleep and then re-awaken it, it immediately shows a WiFi connection on the lock screen.

I would assume that to conserve more power it puts the "search for WiFi" asleep, but lease open the listen for cellular calls awake.

Re-check your husbands iPhone after it has been asleep for a few minutes.

Also, call the carrier, many of the stores are franchise and not company stores. Go to the carrier for the straight story. When you get a "good" answer, be sure to document it.

When I go to iCloud from the iPhone and then go to Account, my apple ID is the original email address I had set up when I bought the iPhone in February, however the listed email on the bottom is the new @me address I set up after the iOS 5 update. Is there a way to make it just list one email address instead of both?
