I have one on my iPad but not on my iPhone 4S. I thought it used to be there. Anyone tell me if I'm right?

Hrm, I had one on my iPhone 4 and have one on iPad 2 but I guess they
integrated it into contacts/phone/etc.

FWIW, iTunes Match (beta/developer access) is not working on the final
versions of iOS and the 4S. There are also several bugs - one is if you are
playing a podcast, audiobook, etc at 2x speed and you get a call, when the
call is over it resumes playing but at 1x speed. There are at least a dozen
small things that I have noticed have not been fixed from the betas. Not to
mention the new "Features" that are annoying - separating Audio & Video from
the single "iPod" app on the iPhone. Making Audiobooks, Podcasts, etc
tougher to access on the iPad, etc.

If you select delete iCloud account, can you set it up again from the iPhone or would you have to do a restore?

Your account remains, it is tied to your Apple ID - you can log into
iCloud.com at any time.

You can set it up again on the iPhone. I've deleted and set up a few already.

I have an icloud question. I created the icloud account on both phone and
ipad using my itunes account email that I buy music, etc from. I have a
mobile me account that uses the me.com address. Can I merge them now that I
used my itunes id to create the icloud account? Sorry if this was
addressed already but I follow this list actively and did not see an answer.
Thanks so much
Sue

It is your Apple ID - if you turn on the Mail option it is a
@me.comaddress. To verify you can go to iCloud.com and log in with
your Apple ID -
you shouldn't be able to log in with the @me.com address unless you created
a separate Apple ID with a @me.com address. The idea is that you should
want ONE ID, the one you have made all of your purchases with, and only one
ID. If your ID is something other than a @Me.com address and you want
iCloud Mail, you can create a free @me.com address.

As has been asked in this group alone, individuals, families, etc have a
wide variety of needs/desires to have multiple iCloud accounts. A single
person may want a different one for each of their devices for the 5GB of
storage, photo storage/syncing, document storage/syncing but want a single
one for Find My iPhone (which now includes all iOS devices and Macs running
Lion - really should rename to "Find My Stuff"). A couple may want to share
one ID for purchases and individual IDs for contacts, calendars, mail, etc.
The possibilities are only limited by what you can think of.

No. No I used my aol address as my primary account. The me.com address
just gives you a free email account. You should use your Itunes ID to make
things easier for your primary account. Anyone, correct me if I am wrong/

No, you can link an iCloud account to an existing email account. Just did
that with my kid's iPhones today.

Hi Bill - that procedure allows me to create a new address not use an old
one. I went to apple support page and saw a link to me.com/move which
created a secondary account with my me.com login and mail address and kept my
primary account with storage and backup etc. Because I did it this way I
guess I am out of the 25gb of storage. Thank goodness I don't use it much.

Incase others have done what I did - go to me.com/move.

Thanks much Bill,
Sue

What I understand is that Mac.com adds get routed through the me.com servers. I have a mac.com addy. It's for all my Apple stuff....iTunes login, iCloud login etc. I haven't had any trouble with iCloud or iTunes since I only use that addy.

No - sorry, this is confusing - your primary iCloud ID is your Apple ID in
your case your Gmail account. If you want to use your @me address you can
move it to iCloud or add it to your profile as an Alternate e-Mail address.

Also, I've helped a customer today their proximity sensor was a bit wonky with the 4 case on their 4S.

From my little technological bit of heaven, iPad2!

iCloud benefits?

Posted by: "inphasefive" skirbyiphone@gmail.com   inphasefive

I have one iPhone, currently an iPhone 4, hopefully a 4S tomorrow. I use my Windows 7 laptop extensively, but do not use Microsoft Outlook as my email client ( I use Eudora ). I do have a @me.com email address, not my main email but useful nonetheless. I have not yet signed into iCloud but from what I know, I cannot think of anyt benefit to using iCloud.

I would prefer to backup my iPhone to my computer, as it has to be faster and my computer is backed up frequently, so backing up in the cloud does not seem useful.

Am I missing something?

I have an iPhone 3Gs and my carrier is also ATT. I can certainly upgrade to an 8GB iPhone 4 for free, if that's what you're after. To upgrade to the iPhone 4s with 64 MB that i want, it'll cost me $399, but I can do it.

iCloud and weak home signal.

Not really a question but I'm wondering how the whole iCloud backup thing is going to work with a signal of only one bar at home and will it do this auto or do you have to initialize it?
I'm thinking a option might be to do it at work.
I've got the old 3G but will soon get a 4s and my wife has the 4.

After you install iOS 5, you turn on wifi sync by plugging into your computer and checking the box in iTunes under summery that says sync iPhone by wifi and sync your iPhone. After that, myou should be good to go.
