Exactly and one of the reasons I gave up the iPhone 3GS a year or so back and
went Android on another provider. I could not get a good signal at all "inside"
my house and had a lot of dropped calls making it almost useless "for me" as a
phone.

I can only speak for me and my house and local area but I would never go back
to ATT. Surprise of surprises was with Sprint I have better service as everyone
knocks Sprint.

I'm actually surprised at the number of preorders AT&T is getting for the 4S considering the negative reviews on it's service and capacity. Speed doesn't do a lot of good without reliability in my book.

AT&T service is not bad at every place. There are quite a few areas where it is better than any other service provider's.

I can ask a question and get the same answer from multiple employees. The 3 AT&T stores I've been into, I ask 3 different people the same question and get 3 different answers. At my house, both Sprint and Verizon are useless due to no signal.

ATT gave me a M-Cell for free and now we have full scale service everywhere on my property inside and out. It works great. They even offer a cheap unlimited plan when you are connected to the m-cell

Yahoo Group Updates ?

Posted by: "N.A. Nada" whodo678@comcast.net

Sat Oct 8, 2011 12:50 pm (PDT)

This is the first time I have seen a Yahoo Group Updates?
Is it real? I don't want to click on the unsub link at the bottom until I know it is not spam.

I can not unsub by going to Yahoo Groups because I don't have or want a Yahoo ID.

To unsubscribe, send a blank message to
apple-iphone-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com. You will get a message to confirm.

I get them regularly from a different group I'm subscribed to. I just ignore and delete.

No, Brent, I wasn't asking how to unsub from this list, just from yahoo updates.

Thanks, mdoyle13.

Thanks, again. Since it is real I used the link at the bottom to unsub.

I like to keep my addy off unsolicited mailing lists, the same way I keep unsolicited mail out of my snail mailbox, aggressively.

From experience, most AT&T stores only get maybe a dozen of each model (3
sizes x 2 colors) while Apple stores get thousands.

That being said, if both are close, I would try AT&T first if they are out
or there is a long line, go to Apple.

The last time I went to an Apple Store was for the 3G and it was a nightmare
because they had no pre orders at all. The 3GS was pre ordered and
delivered on launch day. The 4 was pre ordered and delivered the night
before retail sales but there were still lines at Apple stores for both.

My dad is someone who always goes in person as the Apple store is
close but this time he preordered as it was so bad the last time he went.

You don't see these kinds of lines when a new EVO or Droid is released.

Its crazy when a new iPhone is................... :>

With the current software it is often SO slow, and the camera is really old and yet I use it all the time. Anyway, I preordered online to be mailed to me. I am hoping activating the new phone and upgrading the account etc. Will go okay since I won't have those nice folks at the apple store to do everything. I did spring for apple care though. I love the phone support.

I think the problem with Siri may be that you still have to make physical contact with the iPhone in order to activate it. Not too bad if you are wearing ear buds or probably bluetooth, but annoying if you need to fish it out of your pocket and then swipe it to unlock it.

It works with headset and bluetooth as well as on the phone. I just hope
that it works with all Bluetooth devices - IE able to activate it from the
steering wheel controls on those of us with Bluetooth in our cars, etc.

It's the iPhone. It needs to do things without me even thinking.

If I just SAY siri it should activate no matter what or when or why.

One thing that surprises me a bit is that there seems to be no chatter about USA folks buying the unlocked iPhones from Canada as then they could be used on all three US carriers on a month by month basis. I thought that would be quite a feature.
