update bricked I4

i did the update..error came up.
it will not restore.
i tried to set up as a new phone...itunes says it is benign set up,,,but I4 does not restore.
all i get a screen that says location services.
i rebooted phone and computer numerous times

Double click the home button while the phone is locked. This brings up

I had almost the same problem.
All apps were gone. Now my ID is downloading all apps again & putting them randomly in my phone.
I will have to sit & sort them

I tried to update the new iPad 2 tonight and received the 3200 error.
Tried again a few minutes later and it went without a problem. Next I
tried updating the iPhone 4 but the download was taking forever (was
showing 3 hours to go at about 50 percent). I stopped it, waited a few
more minutes and it completed without a hitch. People just need to be a
little patient and it will be fine!

I may have found a problem with the ios 5 update. I can't turn on
location services on the iPhone 4 (it is grayed out). I tried rebooting
the phone but no help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Without connecting the iPhone to the computer again, locate the last backup before the upgrade. Make a copy of it. Connect the iPhone. Tell iTunes to retore the iPhone *from that saved backup*.

I downloaded the new iOS 5 tonight and when I sync with iTunes it no longer says "sync in progress" on the iPhone as it used to during the process. Is this one of the changes in the new software?

Iphone back up..all apps are back.but all contacts, notes (glad I started
moving to evernote), photos are gone.
Only option in itunes is to restore.no back up.
Any ideas...?

I was able to get it to work, the address I set up was correct but i guess i had to verify it using my apple ID and password. I just don't really understand what the purpose of an @me email address is, is there something useful about it other than just another way of receiving email?

Successfully updated my iPad. Now I am updating Lion system and hope to sign into iCloud and try that out ... but maybe tomorrow. Lots of updating to do on apps, systems, etc. Took forever for both iPhone and iPad updates.

I was able to get in after repeated tries a bit after 10 am on Wed. and the update went smoothly on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad 2. The only exception I've noticed is that I've lost the icons for some of my podcasts.
Anybody know a quick fix for this?

sync your old phone so it's backed up. Now connect the new phone, it would
ask you for a name or profile. Refer it to the old one which you have. Data
would get synced. Others please confirm this as I've not transferred phones.

For those thst upgraded or have an iPhone 4S, what is the iOS version number as shown in Settings, General, About?
Mine shows 5.0(9A334). But it is from the beta program and what was called the Gold Master.
I think it's all the same version.

Apple's iCloud may have only just launched but according to rumors
reported by the LA Times and Wall Street Journal, it's already
negotiating with Hollywood to add movies to the service (funny how
things have changed in five years.) The timing is particularly curious
because Apple, along with Disney, is one of the notable holdouts from
the movie studio-backed Ultraviolet scheme with similar buy once /
stream anywhere aspirations that just hit the streets this week.
However, according to "people familiar with the matter" it could allow
Ultraviolet access on iThings via app, while also bringing its usual
media lock-in magic by also throwing in streaming copies of any flicks
purchased on iTunes, but only on its own hardware. Recently activated
streaming of purchased TV shows to the Apple TV shows the cloud's
potential, but we'll have to wait for deals to be signed before that
North Carolina datacenter puts Hollywood's best on its to-do list.

Mail keeps crashing

I have a 3GS with the latest iOS 4. (decided to wait till the servers aren't so busy to upgrade to 5). Suddenly Mail has started crashing. I tried closing the program. When that didn't work I did a hard reboot. Mail crashes after about 1 second. What should I try next?
