I have an iPhone 4S 64 GB, and I had no problem seeing album covers in list view or in cover flow of the Music app with iOS 5.0, or now in iOS 5.0.1.
Try setting your view to "Albums". Holding the iPhone vertically, in portrait view you should see a list view with the album covers on the left, and in landscape view you should see the album covers in a cover flow view.

Notes problem
Posted by: "Neal" nealpa3@yahoo.com nealpa3
Fri Nov 11, 2011 3:28 am (PST)
I week or so ago I wrote about that when I made an entry in my iphone notes, the note would post on my ipad and send an email to my macbook. Then when I deleted the email (or moved it) the note would disappear from both my phone & ipad.
Went to the genius bar in Park City Mall (Pa) and eventually they fixed for me. Now the note stays in the phone & pad.
Fix is:
On macbook mail app - chose preferences/accounts/ icloud, then mailbox behaviors, the second line is "notes" - uncheck the "show notes in email box"
Also found out when an app update is required you have to do on each device - the cloud doesn't update all devices at once.

Why no blue text?

My husband has 3GS and I have a 4 and we've both upgraded to 5.0 and the Cloud. Yet when we text, his shows green and mine shows blue. Is that bc he has the 3GS? Could it be bc we are both on the same AT&T account? His shows blue with other iPhone users, as does mine.

Blue messages are sent via the new iMessage path, while green messages
are sent via the 'normal' SMS method. For the iMessage messages, you
should also see "delivered" underneath after it's sent. This only
works between iPhone iOS 5 users.

Hmm, interesting. I communicate with a 3gs and I get a blue message.
Perhaps its dependent on wifi? Is that turned on? Looking forward to hearing why.

Battery Life

I am not seeing any difference in the life of my battery after the update
to iOS 5.0.1. When I first got the 4s I restored it from back up and the
battery dropped like a rock. I did a restore as new and everything got
better but was still not as good as iOS 4. Maybe we are expecting too much
out of a small battery in a small device that does so much. That is why I
added the Mophie.

Battery life depends on what what you do with the phone and what apps you have running on it. It seems Siri sucks a lot of battery life. Those of us on the iPhone 4 haven't seen a significant drop in battery life since the iOS 5. I'm guessing it's because we don't have Siri.

iPhone owners report even worse battery life with iOS 5.0.1
Posted by: "Brent" flapdoodle@gmail.com flapdoodle44
Fri Nov 11, 2011 6:29 am (PST)
Sent to you by Brent via Google Reader: iPhone owners report even
worse battery life with iOS 5.0.1 via BGR: The Three Biggest Letters In
Tech by Zach Epstein on 11/11/11
Apple on Thursday released an update to iOS 5 that addressed issues
many users were having with poor battery performance. The Cupertino,
California-based company had been testing the solution for some time,
even uncharacteristically reaching out to affected end-users and having
them install the potential fix to test its effectiveness. Despite
Apple's determination that iOS 5.0.1 resolved issues related to battery
life, however, not all users are finding that to be the case. Read on
for more.
"After upgrading to 5.0.1 my iPhone is draining the battery even
faster," one user posted to Apple's support forum. A number of other
iPhone owners have taken to Apple's forum to complain that instead of
improving their battery life, iOS 5.0.1 has actually exacerbated the
issue. Numerous threads can be found on Apple's website and on other
forums around the web, and some users claim to lose as much as 50% of a
charge in two hours or less. Apple has not publicly addressed users'
complaints.
Apple released iOS 5 on October 12th and reports of significantly
decreased battery life surfaced almost immediately. BGR has
independently tested a number of handsets and while battery life does
seem less impressive than it was with iOS 4, we have not found
performance to be nearly as bad as many reports indicate.

Another U.S. carrier gets set to sell iPhone 4S – for $99

Sent to you by Bill Boulware via Google Reader: Another U.S. carrier
gets set to sell iPhone 4S – for $99 via 9to5Mac by Christian Zibreg on
11/11/11
In addition to the big three (AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint) as
well as regional carrier C Spire which has begun selling iPhone 4S
today, Apple's new handset is now available from Claro Puerto Rico, the
largest Puerto Rican telecommunications services company with over a
million signed up (which makes it slightly bigger than C-Spire). The
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico-headquartered wireless operator hosts a million
US customers in Puerto Rico (yes, it is a U.S. territory, U.S. dollars,
U.S. citizenry).
What's interesting about their offering is that Claro will be offering
the 16GB iPhone 4S for just $99.99 with a standard two-year contact,
quite possibly the lowest subsidized price in the United States. The
16GB/32GB version is a $199/$299 value with a two-year contract.
Customers can choose between four plans costing $64.98, $74.98, $79.98
and $84.98 a month. All plans include unlimited minutes and text
messages and 250MB/2GB/5GB/unlimited data.
They are also offering no-contract iPhone 4S is also available for
$669.99/$769.99/$869.99 for the 16/32/64GB version, which is a $20
premium from Apple's online store, which began accepting orders for the
unlocked iPhone 4S this morning. Claro is offering both the 16GB iPhone
4S subsidized and non-subsidized beginning today, with 32GB and 64GB
capacities "coming soon".
Claro is also offering the 8GB iPhone 4 for $49.99 ($569.99
contract-free).

From MobileMe to iCloud, can't get any Mac mail
Posted by: "shahara" terrasoluna@mac.com shahara9
Fri Nov 11, 2011 1:40 pm (PST)
When trying to log on to iCloud online I get a message "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server" and when I try to get mail with Mail app (on my past MacAir model), it says "The attempt to read data from the server "p99-imap.mail.me.com" failed" - though all my other mail accounts came through (yahoo, aol, gmail) - I tried previous passwords I had, but all the same.
I also can't get Mac mail on my iIPhone, but not sure if its from the update today, or something else (I got iPHone Mail this morning, but am at library getting Mail on both laptop and iPhone).
Thanks for any help,

Not sure how you do it on a PC but with a Mac you can either print
directly using Airprint to an Airprint enabled printer - see list at
Apple website or you can print using the shared printer function on
your Mac.

You had me sort that one out. :-)
It may depend on the printer you have.
I have an HP PhotoSmart 3310 (all-in-one) connected through Wifi.
I tried the free HP ePrint app, but apparently my device predated
that.
I purchased the PrintnShare Pro app, and it works (with the test pages
it brings, anyway). It has a lesser sibling.
NOTE: The app tested the formats (page description languages) that my
device might support, and one of these tests wasted quite some sheets
of paper. The tests alternate between two lines of monospaced text and
a letterhead image anyway.

First off I live in Canada, so Apple service may be different than in the US today I took my iphone 4 in to be looked at because lately when talking on the phone, the person cannot hear me, I can hear them though, not much of a phone when it does that. So my dealer fills out some paperwork, goes in the back and come out with a little box, I'm thinking he's going to give me a loaner iphone. So as he is removing my phones simcard I ask him how long does it normally take, without batting an eye says 4-6 weeks . Then if that wasn't bad enough my loaner phone is some piece of crap Nokia, it must be at least 4yrs old. I said are you serious, you are going to give me this for the next 4-6 weeks. I live in BC and the phone is sent back east, Toronto I guess, they look at it, and if needs parts sent out for the parts, fix it and send it back west to BC.
Does anyone know if there's anything I can possibly do I am dealing with Wireless Wave the store I bought it from.
