Is anyone using FIOS with airport? Is it possible to use FIOS as the modem and Airport as the wireless router?

I do a fair amt of scanning from my MBPro running 10.6.8 using an HP 8600 all in one printer, et al. For some reason I can no longer scan using a 125 dpi resolution & Image Capture. Only 100 & 150 presets are available now. It's not a huge, deal but unless I am crazy something changed in the last few days since I used to be able to set any res I wanted, even if not in a preset. 125 is a happy medium for file size vs readability that I had worked out for what I usually scan.
Anyone have a clue, or is this just another one of those Apple dicta sent down to us users whether we like it or not?

It could be Apple simplifying overall HP drivers based on HP's own specs. If your scanner has a native resolution based on multiples of 300, which most seem to, then 100 and 150 may have slightly better results anyway (simpler interpolation math).
If HP is relying on Apple's generic drivers to handle a relatively new device, that's a little lame, but there's not much choice. I finally had to move from Epson Scan over to Image Capture with my 12-year-old scanner since Epson doesn't want to deal it anymore.
You might check if VueScan supports the HP 8600, if it's worth another $40 to have that exact resolution--and if VueScan can even offer that.

The presets shown are definitely such multiples.
Hmm, I'll have to check out the interpolation idea. But without being able now to make and compare a 125 of the same subject, not sure what I can do. The scanner is not new. This change just showed up yesterday. I do now recall an HP sw update, and various Mac updates, recently.
Thanks for the ideas, like I said it's not the end of my world, just annoying.
