It clears out all network-related settings, including WiFi settings
and passwords. It also forces the phone to request a 'fresh' network
profile from the service provider.

Also if you check your printers manufacturer and see if they have an app in the App Store. Lexmark and Samsung do for sure.

I just got the 4, which allows me to turn off the provider data service and the 3G. Does the 4s not allow you to turn off both the 3g and the service provider data? I run on my home's wifi and public wifi most of the time, and really don't use my 200 mb I have to get from AT&T.

The 4S does not allow you to switch between 3G and Edge, but does
allow you to turn off cellular data.

What's really odd, or what shows the variance in battery is the
difference between my 4S' battery life, and that of my friend's 4.
In comparing battery levels, my 4S runs with Bluetooth, WiFi, and 3G
active while he runs with only bluetooth on, and we maintain roughly
equivalent battery life with similar usage levels. That's gotta be a
tough nut to crack for Apple, but hopefully they can figure out what's
going on.

You can turn 3G data off on the iPhone 4s with iOS 5.x.

Go to

Settings | General | Network
Cellular Data Off

Im glad I have and iPhone 4 on 4.3.3. This new iOS 5 and this new iPhone 4s seems to have many flaws. I read complaints all the time. My iPhone 4 battery lasts a lot and I play with it all day long.

One thing that attracts me is the new camera but I can survive without it.

Im starting to believe it is not worth the upgrade to iOS5 and or a iPhone 4s.

Then you are reading the wrong write-ups. :)

For me, the upgrade to iPhone 4S with iOS 5 has been great. There has
been a lot of talk of Siri, which I get a lot of use out of
(especially with the new Reminders app), but the phone's much quicker,
and the camera's much better (and faster).

My iPhone 4s had reasonable battery life before the update. Now seems to drain faster 😞 .
From 100% charge at 9AM has dropped to 75% with minor Internet and one phone call of three minutes at noon.

A month ago I returned to iPhone from BB, and ended up with an iPhone 4 because I didn't want to wait 6 (!!) weeks for a 4s. I just wanted out of the BB world. I truly do not regret not waiting for the 4s.
I love iOS 5 ... it is fantastic, and has not given me any problems whatsoever. I have great control over all of the functions on this phone, and what wonderful apps there are out there!!

===========================================================

Or for me.
I haven't heard about anything in the upgrades that I need or would find
much use for; my iPhone4 works just fine the way it is. I'm not in the mood
to cope with problems if I'm one of those hit with them. (I have enough
headaches these days.)

Besides, my previous tries at upgrading iOS on my Touch4 bricked it &
required a visit to the Apple Store to resurrect, so I wouldn't even be
interested in trying to upgrade w/o already setting up a GB [moderator: that
Genius Bar] appointment for just-in-case. My iPhone4 & iPad1 are still those
couple of 4.x upgrades behind. They work just fine, though, and haven't
complained. (I've turned off the iTunes upgrade-nag!)

Maybe next year. *Late* next year.

I had my boarding pass for Boston departure sent to my Iphone.   First, I asked for the right email address of the Liberty Hotel in Boston and then I forwarded the pass to that email.   The hotel printed our passes and shoved them under the door early morning of day we left.   We made several trips to Boston earlier this year and this worked especially well second trip.   On the first trip, I tried to have the pass sent to hotel, and couldn't figure it out.

I have also gotten to Boston airport and had the boarding passes printed for us just as we got out of our taxi at the airport.   No problem there either.

I wouldn't want to depend on something like this, or emailing to the gate,
or whatever unless I *knew for a fact* that it worked at *my* airport &
airline (e.g. someone I know just did exactly what I can do with *my*
equipment and didn't have a problem.)

I sure wouldn't want to be arguing with either security or gate personnel
about "this should be ok!" as my flight shut the door and left.

I week or so ago I wrote about that when I made an entry in my iphone notes,
the note would post on my ipad and send an email to my macbook. Then when I
deleted the email (or moved it) the note would disappear from both my phone
& ipad.

Went to the genius bar in Park City Mall (Pa) and eventually they fixed for
me. Now the note stays in the phone & pad.

Fix is:

On macbook mail app - chose preferences/accounts/ icloud, then mailbox
behaviors, the second line is "notes" - uncheck the "show notes in email
box"

Also found out when an app update is required you have to do on each
device - the cloud doesn't update all devices at once.

iOS 5 isn't for everyone. Having read quite a few articles on the iPhone 4s, I'm glad I didn't upgrade to it. I have the iPhone 4 and love it. The iOS 5 update has made it even better. iMessage works very well and is very fast for me. The banner notifications are great. No more interruptions by notifications. iCloud is ok. It took a little bit of futzing to get it to work well. The thing I don't like (doesn't effect me) is that to use all the iCloud features you have to upgrade to Lion. iCloud won't let you sync mail, calendars and contacts unless your upgrade to Lion.
