If you have a windows computer, attach your iPhone to your computer. Go to Start then computer and you will see the iPhone as a drive. Click on it and the DCIM folder will appear. Click on the DCIM folder and copy your photos and videos to your Picture folder. Remember where you put them. Attach your new phone, open iTunes, go to your photo and video tab in iTunes check what you want to sync to your new phone.

You can do the sync prior to the activation, it fact the directions from AT&T say to do that.

Welcome again! Start asking at any time - we try to be helpful and friendly, and even occasionally humorous, and we enjoy helping others, no matter how basic the query. We were all newbies at one point.

All the best,

If you open the Messages.app on your iPhone, it should send iMessages to iPhone users (not using your text messages from your carrier) and text messages thru your carrier to those who do not have an iPhone.

It is only one app. The only difference you will see is the color of the balloon will be different and you will not be dinged on your cellphone bill.

Does that answer your question or are you saying something else?

If you send a message using the Messages App on an iOS 5 iPhone, it will be sent as an "iMessage" if it goes to another iOS 5 device that has been properly set up for iMessaging, and it will be sent as a normal SMS message to anyone else.

What happens with you when you try to send a message?

Have you signed up for messaging with your carrier?

The send button will be blue for iMessages and green for SMS.

Date of Pictures

Hi, Is there any way a photo -(and sent to my email today) that is dated today, both in iPhoto and on my Macbook when I use the "Get Info" function- was not taken today?

The iPhone automatically adjusts to the current date for daylight savings, etc., doesn't it.

I don't unfortunately yet have an iPhone, but my android auto corrects the date as do my Mac computers.

Thanks for the info,

Doris

I'm not sure this is exactly what you're asking about, but:

I just sent myself an email.
I dragged an image created in April, 2000 into an email window and sent it to myself.
On receipt, I opened the message, dragged the image to the desktop, and did a Get Info on it.
It is dated this evening.
