And you tried Upgrade and Restore with phone plugged in? If neither of
those works, put the phone in DFU mode (google iPhone 4 DFU mode for steps)

On mine, it crashed each time at "Verifying iPhone restore with server" so
it seems to be a server overload issue - keep trying or come back later.

I was hoping it was that last Lion update. It wasnt. Still doing the same thing and saying there is an internal error. Its not a server load issue I dont think because it appeared to successfully down load the file.

John, did you restart your computer, or your phone?

problems here too, (previous Mac Air, 3Gs), also it backs up the phone every time which takes almost an hour, even though its completely synced.

I haven't had any problems auto updating iTunes on either of my Win 7 64
bit systems until last night. I got an error on my laptop that a
"security certificate was outdated." I bypassed the error because I knew
I was connected to Apple but it was a little strange.

Bill, Haven't looked much at iCloud but a question now.

1. To use iCloud we need to have both Lion and iOS5? I'm on 10.6.8 now.
2. How long does Mobile Me continue to function as it is now - 6/30/11?

Thanks,

work until 6/30/2012 I believe. Someone posted a "what you need to know"

Question about moving to new phone

Hi All - I am getting an iPhone 4S on Friday (got the shipping confirmation today yeah). Can I restore from my latest 3GS Backup to get all my info and settings over to the new phone or is that too risky? There have been no problems with the 3GS phone.

Thank you
Sue

Basically, everything you've bought through iTunes - music, Apps, books, ... - does NOT count towards the 5 GB limit.

Do you have 5 GB of *other* stuff?
