Posted: 13 Oct 2011 05:32 PM PDT

With the release of iOS 5, we’ve been asked by a bunch of Gevey unlockers if it was safe or not to update to the latest operating system.

Truth be told, I do not use the Gevey SIM unlock so I wasn’t really able to help until a user pointed out the obvious to me: it works as long as you preserve your baseband…(...)

Posted: 13 Oct 2011 05:15 PM PDT

We’ve been hearing murmurings that Apple was considering giving users a way to merge two separate Apple ID for a month or so now, but it appears that any hopes of those coming dreams coming to fruition have just been dashed to pieces.

No need to unlock the phone, look for the camera app, and launch it, as you can now do that right from the lockscreen. This simple feature can save time if you want to take a picture right away.

I’ve been asked a few times today how to activate this feature, and even though most of you out there probably know how to use it, I figured it might be helpful to new iOS users…(...)

Posted: 13 Oct 2011 03:57 PM PDT

Newsstand is a pre-made folder that provides iOS 5 users with an easy way to access digital subscriptions. But it’s a bit annoying for the folks who don’t use it, as its icon can’t be placed in other folders. Luckily there’s a workaround.

There’s a nice little tidbit floating around the web by way of TiPB and The Coding Massacre regarding Newsstand. As it turns out, there’s a small glitch in iOS that allows you to place the icon in a folder without the need to jailbreak…(...)
