Restore using IOS 5.0 without PC

With IOS 5 we are on our way to be able to use the iPad without a pc. Is it possible to do a restore to the "new" state with out connecting to itunes?

Kinda -- Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings. It
won't restore the OS itself, but it's basically the same action as a Find
my iPhone remote wipe.

yes some of them have them on the appstore u just gotta download it and connect with face book.i know farmville has one for sure cuz i use that one

CityVille is also available in teh app store. not sure if there are any
other games are available

Hello all! I'm new to this group. Nice to meet ya!
I have been searching and searching for a few questions I just can't find the answers for. I'm hoping you can help me! I love yahoo groups! You guys/gals are all so smart!! I got this Ipod touch free when I purchased my laptop oh I'm not sure how long ago. I've never needed it, got my phone, so I gave it to my kids. Of course they want Angry birds and a few other games "full version" but I need version 4 or higher. I have read about jailbreaking, but it is not clear to me if it will be useful. Like I said it is for my kids (7&5) who want to play some games so if I jailbreak this old touch will it allow me to upgrade to at least version 4? or will jailbreaking it allow me to get full versions of angry birds, sponge bob marble & slide and some games I can't even get like petshop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really just want these girls to stop nagging me about these games. I dont even mind paying the .99 for the games!! I just need the full versions! Why is this so hard (you don't have to answer that one!)? Thanks sooo much and have a fab evening! h

The first gen ipod does not support apps except the factory installed apps
that come on the ipod. There is no need to jailbreak the first gen ipod
touch. Apple stopped providing updates for the first gen long ago. I do
believe that IOS 2.x is the highest software supported. The only devices
that support the new IOS include the ipod touch 3rd gen, 4th gen, Iphone
3gs and above.
I own a ipod touch 2nd gen and i am maxed out at IOS 4.2.1. There are no
more updates available for my ipod.
I'd suggest purchasing a new ipod touch, at least a 2nd gen, in order to
load the games on to it. and plus, a jailbreak is also not needed.
purchasing the app will give you the full version.
