What I do all the time is:

Copy all photos from the iphone to a folder on my pc using windows explorer...separate them in subfolders as I like and import then back to iphone using itunes.

You can select the folder/subfolders to import in itunes clicking in your iphone on the left and then selecting "photos" on the top menu. Select them "Sync Photos from" then point to your picture folder on your HD and then select "All folders" in itunes and you can also select "include videos" and then sync. They will go on folders on iphone.

Subject: [apple-iphone] Photo Help

I need to organize my photos into folders, move additional photos to existing folders, and back them up on my PC. I cannot see a way to organize them in iTunes. If this is possible in iTunes, might someone direct me to instructions on this. If there is software that supports this, or an app for the phone, I would like to know about it too.
Thank you.

MG Siegler reports that Google is "on the verge" of releasing a native
Gmail client for the iPhone through the App Store. Gmail users have
long complained over the lack of push Gmail for the iPhone, which this
native application is said to bring. Siegler says the application will
likely also bring Priority Inbox and one click starring. Of course,
nobody says that this application has been approved or will be approved
by Apple, so until then, don't get too excited.

You need to have overdrive on the iPhone/pad to read/listen even though
iTunes is used to get them onto the device they show up in overdrive.

This is something I am working on for our library.  I downloaded a WMA file and iTunes converts it giving a message like "Converting 3345.  The next chapter says "Converting 4356" etc.  Very strange.  If I write down one of these numbers I can search on the iPhone for it and find that chapter - sometimes.  I cannot find the audiobook anywhere on my iphone looking through the music app.  MP3 files work through the app, but so much of what I want and are customers want are WMA formats.

I wil let you kow if I find out anything.  OverDrive claims they have this fixed with their updated app and media center, but I still can't get it to work.  I have someone else at work testing it.

not on my verizon iphone4. when i touch the 'voice mail' icon in the built-in phone app i get a visual list of messages. i can then pick and choose which ones to listen to. no call to the provider is necessary as the recording is resident on the phone.

For some reason I cannot figure out why my calendar is off by one hour. I type an appointment into my iphone or icloud, and it syncs an hour off. I have checked the settings, and they appear correct. Can someone walk me thru the process to see where I may have the problem?

I just tested and it works fine for me.

Check the following,

1. Remember time changes this weekend (for most of us) - are you accounting
for that (off the wall and shouldn't effect it, but you never know).

2. Make sure "Time Zone Support" is turned on in Settings > Mail, Contacts,
Calendars > Calendars > I have "New Invitations Alerts" On, Sync "All
Events", Time Zone Support > On and "New York" (I am in Eastern).

3. On iCloud.com, log in, on Calendars, in upper right corner click
Settings (Gear icon) > Preferences > Advanced > Enable Time Zone Support.

4. When creating events, on the "Start & End" - There is a "Time Zone"
there as well - it shoudl default to the setting in # 2 above (New York)
for me - make sure you aren't selecting a Time Zone out of yours unless you
plan to.

I set 8 events (3 am & 3 pm) on each of my 3 iCloud calendars (Home, Work,
Shared) and 2 events for after Sunday (when time is changing) and all
showed up exactly as expected on iPhone, iPad, iCloud.com, Macbook in iCal,
and Windows machine in Outlook.

I am thinking that there is a "Time Zone" setting somewhere that isn't set
correctly. I tried and the 8 events I entered on my phone showed up
correctly on iCloud.com and all other devices but there are others who said
that they have the Time Zone settings set correctly and things are showing
up behind an hour.

It is possible that some machine somewhere thinks that the Time has already
changed, I know some cars clocks automatically changed back this morning -
they didn't receive the update when DST dates changes a few years ago...

Apple misses iTunes Match launch deadline

Sent to you by Bill Boulware via Google Reader: Apple misses iTunes
Match launch deadline via BGR: The Three Biggest Letters In Tech by
Todd Haselton on 11/1/11

Apple has failed to make good on its promise to deploy its iTunes Match
service by the "end of October." A beta version of the service, which
allows users to access their entire music library in iCloud from any
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or computer, originally became available in
late August and it was first included in early builds of iTunes 10.5.
The service was supported in the latest iTunes 10.5.1 developer build,
too, but that version expired on Tuesday. It remains unclear when Apple
will officially launch iTunes Match or what is causing the delay.
iTunes Match typically wipes a developer's library before a new version
launches, and the last wipe occurred on Thursday. That suggests either
a final build or a new developer build of iTunes 10.5 will be rolled
out shortly.

Go to your Settings/iCloud and note the @me.com address you have listed for your account. Is it the same as you had before? Usually, iCloud will ask you to pick a new @me.com address only if the account address listed is different than what you had originally set up.

Hope this helps.

Bored with Siri yet? Ran out of things to ask her? Then ask her to tell
you a story! She'll refuse at first but if you keep on bothering her,
she'll relent and tell you her origin story. It's funny! More »
