Finally, DEVONtechnologies releases a brand new freeware app: Grid.

"It's update season here at DEVONtechnologies - and our users shouldn't miss it! We have added new functionality and eye candy, made all apps faster and more reliable, and, of course, fixed dozens of bugs and glitches," comments Eric Bohnisch-Volkmann, President of DEVONtechnologies.

The new version 3.1 of DEVONagent Pro, DEVONtechnologies' smart Internet research agent, comes with a completely revised See Also pane showing more useful results from the DEVONtechnologies and the Apple developer website, and adds a new contextual menu command to quickly archive images from webpages. The new See Also pane much better integrates contextually related data, generated by DEVONagent's unique technology, directly into DEVONagent web browser windows and makes it possible to use it in fullscreen mode, too.

Many scanners available in DEVONagent Pro as well as in the ubiquitously available DEVONagent Express are more reliable, some search sets - collections of search engines that can be used together for better results - have been overhauled, and the multimedia and video scanners recognize also .f4v video files. Queries and internal searches now support international currency and law symbols to make it easier to search for pricing and legal information.

Email archiving with DEVONthink Pro Office is more reliable when your mailboxes contain lots of messages and the simple search interface can be used on iOS now, too. A new smart template improves integration with the bibliography manager EndNote X4 and DEVONthink Pro better works around problems with buggy RSS feeds, Spotlight issues with OmniOutliner 3.10.x, bugs in OS X's PDFKit framework, PDF documents created by Apache FOP 1.x, and issues with the AppleScript Editor on OS X 10.7 Lion.

All applications also show more icons in menus if possible and better handle background storages. Finally all seven apps have undergone a number of minor changes to improve compatibility to the Mac App Store.

DEVONthink To Go, the companion app to DEVONthink and DEVONnote for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, is available in version 1.2.1 now with a new PDF viewer and a rich text editor. DEVONthink To Go now also displays large PDFs, e.g. scanned documents, and allows to create or edit formatted text on all mobile iOS devices.

Finally, the new freeware app Grid, available from the Mac App Store, moves, resizes, and aligns windows to an invisible grid with a single keystroke. It's the must-have utility for everyone working mostly with the keyboard.

All functions are activated via an interactive tool selector. This selector was intuitively designed to avoid accidental movement during usage of the program. The menu can be hidden or shown by swiping to the left or right on any non functional area with two fingers. The option to auto hide this menu after a specified duration, rather than use manual swiping, is also conveniently available.

All in one applications often provide reduced functionality by focusing on the quantity of individual tools. Grace Windram has been diagnosed with Spastic Dyplegic Cerebral Palsy. Say What You See: The Collection, the popular iPhone game, recently announced that their charity update raised over $34,000, which, when combined with the $36,000 already raised by Grace�s Fund, is enough to send her to the USA to receive an operation she desperately needs. To celebrate, they've today released some new DLC for the app, a movie-themed 'Blockbusters' canvas.

London, United Kingdom - In 2006, Grace Windram, was born two months prematurely. Her illness affects the tone in her legs and arms and her core muscles, affecting her muscle control and balance, her muscles in her mouth and tongue. Today, in the UK, Grace can't walk. But she's been accepted for an operation in the USA at St. Louis Children's Hospital. The operation is called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, and it would remove the tightness in her legs, meaning that with intensive physiotherapy, she will be able to learn to walk. Grace's parents, Gavin and Helen Windram, were initially aiming to raise 50,000 ($80,000) for the operation. Grace's Fund is being run by the Tree of Hope Children's Charity (reg. no. 1043092). All the proceeds of this fund will go towards the operation, and her subsequent physiotherapy, equipment and treatment.

Touched by Grace's story, app company Big Ideas Digital created a special Say What You See canvas just for Grace. 'Grace's Toons', launched on 1st September, saw players trying to spot and unravel 50 well-known cartoon names in a Road-runner-esque backdrop. Players of the game managed to raise 21,000 ($34,000) in less than eight weeks for Grace's Fund.

Helen Windram, Grace's mother said: "We will be eternally grateful for the generous support that Big Idea's has given Graces Fund. Thanks to Big Ideas Digital, Grace can begin her journey to a better life."

But this is not the end for Grace's Fund. Gavin and Helen will continue to raise funds, to help with the extensive amount of aftercare she'll need in the following weeks, months and years. "On our return from USA, we will continue to fundraise for the large on-going cost (this includes intensive private physiotherapy, equipment, return follow up visit to USA and any other treatment for Grace) to enable Grace to reach her full potential."
